WonderWorld shows you the whole world map, letting you quickly search for any location to pinpoint where it is in relation to you. With a built-in database of all countries and main cities (the lite version is limited to the USA and 70 other countries) you can quickly match places, or turn your phone to see a view from Alaska to Australia.

But it doesnt stop there! Further your knowledge of world events by viewing major news items as push-pins on the globe, exactly where they are happening. You can select from 5 news feeds (the paid version provides 35+ feeds as well as more world locations to report news on) ranging from World News, Domestic News, Business, Finance, Sports, Entertainment, Technology and more.

If youre on-line, clicking an item will show further location details about language, population, government, history, geography and flags etc. Using the pinch gesture also lets you zoom in and pan around to see more detail. Feeling lucky? Shake your phone to see a random location, can you guess where it is?

News items show you the headline for each location, and you can drill down and read the entire article now that you have a better understanding of where the event is happening.

Its Educational, its practical and genuinely useful. Never have a blank look about current events or geography again.

While there are other world map applications on the App Store - WonderWorld doesnt just show clipped pictures, it uniquely shows you a global view of all world locations as well as letting you zoom in to see more.

(Note: News, zoom and article functionality require an internet connection, however searching in the global view is supported while off-line. This ensures a healthy balance of up to date information, while allowing offline usage. This app also works with the iPod touch as the GPS isnt strictly required).

This Lite version is limited to the USA and 70 other countries (the full version has over 240 countries, islands and territories - as well as over 800 cities, regions and landmarks - this greatly enhances the RSS news lookup). The Lite version is also limited to only 5 news feeds (the full version has 35+ user selectable feeds including sports, politics, science, entertainment and more).
